Listing on a Posts Page

  • Right now, when people visit my posts page, they see all of my blogs in the chronological order (most recent-least recent). I like that, but I would love to just have all of them linked in more of a list format. How do I do that?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi,

You can insert a Shortcode into your designated posts page. The Shortcode is:

    [archives]

Simply paste it into the Visual editor and click publish. You will then be able to see your posts in a list format. You can read more about Archive Shortcode here:

Hope this helps and let us know if you have more questions.

  • I’m realizing I didn’t ask my question well. It’s actually indexed right now so when I do that Shortcode it doesn’t change the look. What I’m looking for is more of a thing where someone could click on the Posts Page link on my Homepage and it takes them to a page that lists all of the blog posts that are categorized on that page and then when they click on the posts, those single posts come up and they can read them. Does that make any more sense? So the page would look like a compilation of my featured images for my blogs with the titles underneath and maybe a few lines of the beginning texts for each of the blogs, but to actually access each blog the viewer would click on each one individually instead of the posts all just being listed right there.

  • Hi again,

I can suggest that you switch to a different theme like Orvis or Cubis, which have a grid layout to show posts with an image and text excerpt.
For example with Orvis theme you can use the shortcode [portfolio] to display previously created portfolios on any post or page.
You can look at other grid-layout themes using a “layout:grid-layout” keyword.
