Location function on Oxygen theme not working, confusing it with Google search

I am using a static page as my home page and trying to populate “Recent Articles.” When I go to “Location” – there are no options to choose from, only a search box that when I begin to type, pull up locations via Google.

Here is the text I see in the Locations box:
” Any location you set for this post will be public.
Enter a location for this post:”
(and then there is a google search box that auto-populates with addresses when I start typing)

I have seen this issue on a few other boards but no answer yet.

    The site is:

    I’d love some help, thanks!

The blog I need help with is irishimpact.wordpress.com.

In Oxygen, there is no way to show posts in both the slider and the recent articles area. It’s been designed to not to have duplicated posts on the page.

Hi there! To answer your question, there is currently no option to display more than three “Recent Articles” on the Showcase Page template. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/oxygen-more-than-3-recent-articles-possible?replies=8#post-927072
