login to plugins directory

I want to add a mailchimp subscription form but mailchimp says that I should unzip their archive and upload to my plugins directory. However, when I try to login to the directory, using my new password which allows me to edit my site, I get this message, “You have not logged in since June 2011, when we reset all passwords on the WordPress.org site. Please for reset the password for rlmrdl now.” Does that mean the plugins directory is different from the site dashboard and, if i change the password for the plugins directory, will tat affect the password for the dashboard?
Cheers
The blog I need help with is soilchar.wordpress.com.
Hi there. You cannot install plugins on WordPress.com sites. If you are trying to install this plugin on your own self-hosted WordPRess site, please ask your question at wordpress.org/support. This forum is only for sites hosted on WordPress.com
