logo in header – reddle theme
Hello, I would like to achieve this look of a header in my blog:
I actually use the same theme as the example above :)
The blog I need help with is bezego.com.
It’s really easy to upload a header to your blog. Just go to Apperance –> Customize in your Dashboard. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/ for more detailed instructions.
Now, the only hard part is finding a talented illustrator to make a lovely header image. :)
(I’ve moved this to the themes forum since it’s not actually a CSS question.)
oh sorry – I haven’t made myself clear :) I know how to upload an image into a header. I just do not know how to put it NOT into a custom header space but at the very top of the page just like in this blog:
So my correct question should be – how to change the custom header area? The reddle custom area is below what I want :)
Thank you! :)
You need so purchase a upgrade to do that. No changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header and Theme Options which are stated on the theme description pages for each theme will be visible to visitors unless you purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing.
I do have an upgrade – that’s why I started the thread in CSS forum :)
I apologize for my first response above. You simply create upload a header image and suppress the display of header text. I just did this on my test blog.
Maybe it would be a good idea for you to register your own test blog and make it private like we Volunteers do.
No problem. :) Thank you! Unfortunately I do not understand what it means to “create upload a header image”. Is it somewhere in my dashboard?
Thanks for the idea with a test blog. I will do it.
You use image editing software to create the image and place text on the image. Then you upload the image at > Appearance > Header
Reddle – Header Images should be at least 1120 pixels wide. Suggested width is 1120 pixels. Suggested height is 252 pixels.

Timethief thank you for your help but I am getting more and more confused here. It seems to me that all I can do in “appearance>header” is to upload an image into a standard header area. This is not what I want to achieve. I want to have an image above it – right where the name of my blog is at the moment. I cannot find the way to do that in “appearance>header”… The blog keeps uploading the image BELOW the name of my blog. I start to think I cannot see something that is staring in my face :( Sorry for that. Could you tell me where it is?
You go to Appearance > Header, select an already uploaded image or upload a new one from your computer, uncheck the option “Show header text with your image”, click Save Changes.
:) thank you justpi! this is exactly what I needed to know.
thanks also for encouraging me to work with firebug. I wanted to reduce the space over and under navigation bar and i do not know how but I did it! I feel like a lucky monkey :)
thank you timethief for the links and info on pixels :) Now all I need is to find a good image :)
You’re welcome. :)
