Hi. I’ve logged back in to my wordpress after a couple of months to update a website I was working on and the whole thing seems to have disappeared. It says that I don’t have any wordpress sites and asks if I’d like to create one. Can you help me to recover the site please? Please contact me on (email redacted).
https://maguirespizzabardotcom.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.
Is that the site you refer to?
If not then post the URL of the site in question.
If it is the site you mean read on.
I am sorry but deleting a URL is intended to be a permanent act and that is why warnings are given that one has to ignore to delete a site.
Deleted wordpress.COM blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another URL. See: Adding a New Site or Blog to an Existing Account https://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/#adding-a-new-site-or-blog-to-an-existing-account
Also know that it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It was maguirespizzabar.com. I haven’t deleted anything, I just haven’t logged into it for a couple of months. When I type that into google the results look like there’s a site there and has some of the content in the description but when I click the link it says that it can’t reach the page
The domain maguirespizzabar.com was registered through Enom and is being used for a self hosted WordPress.org site, not a WordPress.com site. There is some information about the differences between the two in this guide:
We are only able to help with WordPress.com sites hosted on our own servers here. However, support for self hosted WordPress.org sites is available on these forums:
I recommend contacting your hosting provider (PAC web hosting) about why the site is unavailable — they should be able to give you some more information.
Best of luck getting this sorted!
