Lower Header on Mystique Theme

I would like to lower the custom header on my site. I am using mystique theme and there is an awkward space between the menu and the header – can anyone tell me how to lower it so that the spaces above the header and below the header are equal OR so that the header is flush with the menu? I am unfamiliar with coding so if that is the solution will you please be very specific about step by step instructions (where to go, what to delete, what to add where, etc.). I would GREATLY appreciate any help! Thanks so much in advance!
