Mapped blog to my domain, but .wordpress.com still appears in address bar

    Hello,
    I’m trying to eliminate the “.wordpress.com” that repopulates the address bar after I type in my organization’s correct url (www.ndfwinc.org). It routes properly, just reads incorrectly. We mapped it to our domain already, but the suffix is still wrong. It happens on all browsers I use (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE9). I want folks to be able to copy and paste the correct url into emails, etc. once we launch this, so I really need the correct suffix (“.org”) up there.
    Can I fix this, or is this something only my web host can fix?
    I appreciate any advice you can offer!

    When did you purchase the domain mapping upgrade? Did you already own the domain in question or did your purchase it through wordpress.com? Did you follow through with all the steps required? Has 72 hours passed yet? Domain name propagation takes time and can take up to 72 hours though it rarely does.

    We did own the domain. It’s been weeks since we did the mapping. As far as I know, I completed all the steps, yes.

    Hi there, I don’t see the domain mapping upgrade on your site under Store > My Upgrades:

    https://ndfwinc.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

    I also don’t see it listed under the transactions on your account. Do you have the receipt you received after purchasing the upgrade? If so, let me know and I’ll open a ticket so you can send it along via email. If not, would you try purchasing the domain mapping again? Thanks.

    I understand now. We never purchased the domain mapping upgrade. My tech guy helped me with this. Maybe he thought we didn’t have to do it since we own the domain and have a host. I don’t know. Either way, thanks for the help, and sorry for the false alarm. Feel free to close this topic, of course.
