Matala "About author" thingy.
-
Is it possible to delete the huge “About the author” box that appears at the bottom of posts?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Yes. The data is derived form this page > Users > My Profile in the “About you” box and anything you add there appears on your Gravatar profile page as well. Remove all data there and the author profile will no longer display under every post or on your Gravatar profile page.
Alternatively, you can switch to using a theme that does not display and author profile. See author byline and author profile displayed or not > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

Thanks, but it sounds like if I do that it will also vanish from my Gravatar, and I don’t want to change the Gravatar. I just want to zap it from this particular blog. I get the idea that what I want ain’t possible without changing themes. Am I right?
Thanks again.

patzmich,
You can also hide the author box with CSS if you have the Custom Design upgrade. If you get the upgrade, I’d be happy to provide the code necessary for hiding the box.

I don’t have the upgrade, Michiecat, and have no plans to do so. But thanks for the offer of assist.

Hi patzmich,
No problem! I’ll go ahead and mark this topic as resolved. Feel free to post any other questions in a new topic. Cheers!
