    Hello,

We have the premium wordpress.com plan.

I’d like to be able to install a self hosted copy of wordpress and be able to customize the theme more including installing plugins. Currently we cannot do this with the current plan on wordpress.com (premium).

How can we switch over to wordpress.org keeping the current website structure and DB intact?

    Thank you for the support.

The blog I need help with is thedrakegroup.org.

You can’t because no themes can be transfered between wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG sites. We can move content only.

We have the premium wordpress.com plan.

That plan is not transferable to a wordpress.ORG software install. Only the domains can be dealt with as described here:

    re: Refunds
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. It takes from 1 – 2 weeks or 7 – 10 business days for the refund to be received.

    re: Canceling upgrades
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account

    Hi Timethief,

Thank you very much for the feedback and support.

So the theme we are currently using cannot be transferred but the content can be.

Does this mean I won’t have the same look and feel but I can maybe use another theme to utilize the content with?

Wouldn’t it just be exporting the theme and importing on the self hosted copy? Or is the way wordpress.com websites work different?

    Thanks

No you cannot do that. The two run on different software. However, you can contact the designer of the theme directly and request a version of it that will run on WordPress.ORG software. Read about that here https://en.support.wordpress.com/premium-themes/

And, if you are willing to throw money at this move, then you can purchase a one time Guided Transfer upgrade. See here for details https://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/

    Hi there,

The move.wordpress.com link @timethief gave you contains everything you need to know to move your content. You can also see this link for some information on getting hosting:

    https://get.wp.com/

The Premium Theme on your site was purchased in 2012, and has since been retired, both by us and by WooCommerce who created it. So you won’t be able to purchase the self-hosted version of the theme either. You might be able to download the theme from another site if you Google it, but it will be an unlicensed and unsupported version, meaning there won’t be any updates or security patches and there won’t be anywhere you can go to report bugs and have it fixed. If it breaks you’ll need to fix it yourself.

My advice would be to rather look for a different, more recent theme that will suit your purpose. You can search other available WooCommerce themes, or the theme directory on WordPress.org, or you can look at other theme shops like ThemeForest or Mojo Marketplace as well.

    https://wordpress.org/themes/

The theme and Premium Plan on the site belongs to the user drakegroup1999, and the domain belongs to the user, rbove. Those users will need to cancel the respective upgrades if you no longer want/need them on WordPress.com.
