Min blogg syns aldrig i Bloggportalen

  1. Jag har aldrig lyckats att visa mina feeds i Bloggportalen (och jag har köpt ett par nya datorer sedan första försöket), och jag förstår inte felmeddelandena som jag får.

    Var ska jag ändra?

This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

line 14, column 100: Self reference doesn't match document location [help]

    ... rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" />
line 25, column 9: title should not be blank [help]

line 25, column 9: Image title doesn't match channel title [help]

line 28, column 143: Unregistered link relationship: search [help]

    ..." title="Bjorkbloggen" />

The blog I need help with is

  2. Hi there - I'm not familiar with Bloggportalen. Your feed itself looks fine, however. Make sure you're using this exact URL:

If this doesn't help, could you please make a screenshot or two of what you're doing at Bloggportalen that would help me better understand the issue? Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot:

You can upload it to your blog's Media Library and I can look at it there.

  3. Hey and thanks!

The blog catalog Blogportalen doesn't show my blog feeds, and they therefore make the automatic advice to check the feeds through a "feed validator (for atom, rss, klm). When I do this I get an automatic message - as per above. I don't understand it, and I'm unsure what to do.

Yesterday I upgraded my blog, and then I got an automatic message which told me that something was wrong with the blog's "dns". However, the upgrade worked alright.

I made a screen shot for the library...

  4. Hi there - Those feed validator results aren't something you need to worry about. Your feed is working fine; I subscribed to it in Feedly (a free RSS reader) to check and I see all your most recent posts.

Could you please try selecting Full Text for the 'each article in a feed' option here:

See if that makes any difference.

  5. Hey

I mentioned the feed validator in case that is connected to the problem. When I search for my own blog on, I see the info "there are no articles to show for this blog right now". Other Blogs can show their feeds. (I CAN however see my feeds on other Blog catalogues, but it's a shame that I'm having problems on the major one.

My MAIN problem is, however, that I'm unable to PING! I used to be able to, but not any more.

I did change it to "full text" as you suggested.

  6. Hi there - I've passed this issue along to our developers, just in case there's an issue with your feed. But I think since it's only that won't display it that it's likely something on their end. Is that a service you submit your own feed to, or does it index sites on its own?

Can you please provide a bit more detail about not being able to ping? If you mean notify search engines that your content has updated, pings search engines for you automatically each time you post.

  7. I can live without seeing my feeds on Bloggportalen. (It's just a shame that the biggest and finest blog catalogue won't show my feeds. Since it's the major blog catalogue in Sweden, they aren't likely to have issues. )

The problem that I REALLY would like to get solved is my ping-problem. I'm not sure if my plug-ins are perhaps working against each other (maybe I have one too many for Chrome), or if my settings (like Twingly) make too many pings so my blog articles won't show.

I have changed computers a couple of time, but the ping-problem remains the same. It could be a Chrome-setting that should be changed (like a plug in).

  8. Hi there - Can you please provide more detail about what you mean by pings? Do you use a certain service? What actions do you take and where that aren't functioning currently? Screenshots are a big help with helping us see what you're seeing. Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot:

You can upload it to your blog's Media Library and I can look at it there.

  9. Hi again

Check my latest article for a "screen shot" (the one about Mandela). I made an url to an article in the newspaper "Dagen" somewhere in the top of the article. My article should therefore be listed beside their article as one of the Blogs that has written and pinged their article. It doesn't work. Other people's Blogs are listed, but not mine. It used to work for me, but I suspect that my Chrome settings must be wrong somehow. That's my only guess. Dagen has a Twingly-service which can be used for those who want, but I don't think it should be necessary. We can ping our Blogs through this service, for separate posts or for an automatic service. Maybe I'm trying to "over-ping my Blog"? I used Twingly only because my pings didn't work.

I also try with newspapers such as, and it doesn't work there either.

  10. Hi there - For blogs and websites that aren't hosted on, you can include what's called a Trackback to ping them. You can read more about this here:

However, whether or not your ping actually displays on their site is up to them. They might choose to only display certain pings and not others, or they might not display any. It just depends on the website.

It looks like Dagen might only display blogs that are submitted to the Twingly service.

  11. Yeah, I only know that it used to work (but sometimes I had to wait for hours) until one day it didn't work anymore. But now it looks like it works again.
    Thanks for your help
