Missing edits

  1. Hi there,

I've been working on a post for some time and have made several edits over the past 3 days. Within this past hour, my browser crashed, and when reopening, the prior pages were not able to be restored in Google Chrome. When I logged back into WordPress, my draft was only as current as 3 days ago, because most of my updates had been done. I wish to see if there's a possibility to restore (there is none in the Revisions section, only as recent as 3 days ago). Please advise, thank you.

The blog I need help with is

  2. Did you create the post here!/post/ where the auto-save does not work? has an autosave feature and you may be able to recover an earlier post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post.

If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.

If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it's not in your Trash folder then you will not be able to recover it.

Create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog where the auto-save works
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New

Or use an offline blog editor so you always have backups on your own computer

  3. Thanks for checking. No, I did not use the first option. And sadly, my revisions from the past three days, that I had been actually pressing 'save' on, are not seen.
