Missing Plug Ins

I see examples on wordpress about how to add plug ins, but I do not even have a plug in button on my side bar (it usually comes after appearance). Do I need to upgrade or is there something I am doing wrong?

I’d like to add the “pin it” plug in, but don’t even have a plug in option.

    Thanks!

We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org.

However, you can add a Pinterest button via Settings -> Sharing in your blog’s Dashboard.
