Misty Lake theme prints whole menu hierarchy

    Misty Lake theme includes the whole menu hierarchy when I print using Firefox 18.0.2 or Chrome 24.0.1312.57 m or IE 10.0.9200.16484
    This takes 3 pages and is annoying to users.

    The blog I need help with is wingsfortruth.info.

    I looked at a print preview for http://wingsfortruth.info/ and I see what you mean. Note that the current print display for Misty Lake is already established, and some people with shorter menus may like that it prints the whole hierarchy, and sometimes in cases like this we choose to keep the original setup since it is already established.

    However, it also doesn’t hurt to ask for an update, so I have made a request to see if someone will take a look at possibly updating the print stylesheet for Misty Lake the next time it is reviewed.

    In the mean time, if you would like to purchase the Custom Design upgrade from WordPress.com, it comes with the option to add CSS to adjust the appearance of a blog and you can use it to setup print styles. You can also try it out before buying by entering the following CSS example into your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS editor, clicking the preview button, and then clicking the print preview button:

    @media print {
    	ul.sub-menu {
    		display: none;

    I don’t think anyone would want the complete menu hierarchy printed so I would like to leave this open as a request for an update to Misty Lake.

    You could look into “print friendly” for printing posts or pages:

    Yes we have implemented printfriendly as a button at the bottom of each page and it seems to work well.
