MistyLook custom header cropping

When I upload an image for the custom header in MistyLook, the cropping ability is distored. It makes the picture smaller and then when it’s cropped and added to the page, it cuts off more than it should and there is significant white space between the header and the text of the blog. Does this make sense? Any suggestions?

I’m uploading an images that are exactly 806 x 190 pixels. The results are excellent. Perhaps pre-sizing the header images as I do will solve your problem.

I think there is something wrong with the custom header option for MistyLook. I tried out the theme when it first came out on a test blog and created a 806×190 image and uploaded it. There was no next screen to crop the image (since it was the exact dimensions i believe) but the far right side of the image was cropped when i view it on the blog. When going back to the dashboard it shows it ok. I sent in feedback and I do believe they know it’s an issue.

It maybe sending it to the cropper due to teh size of the file as well. How large in kb is the image file you’re trying to upload?

I have now found from experience with the Misty Look theme that the size for the header may be 806 x 190 pixels. But, if so then the image on the right hand side will be chopped off. I’ve had better results using images that are 806 x 189 pixels.
