Modularity Lite – Changing Transparency
Just started with Modularity Lite, and one of the samples showed, instead of a black transparency, a full white area. How do I change this? I purchased the Custom Design, but am not sure how to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is noeandcompany.com.
You want the grayish area where the content is white? That means that all of the text color is going to have to be changed from white to much darker color so that it will show up.
This site: http://www.sondersphotography.com/blog/ (regularly featured) uses a white background for the “live” area. That’s what I am looking for, plus the header box dimensions are much deeper than I am able to create. I’m still trying to figure all of this out. Any clues you could send my way would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry, you need to head over to the WordPress.org forums where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.
These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently.
If you are not familiar with the differences, see this support document.
Thanks for the guidance!
You are welcome.
I just wanted to clarify and make sure, but I am using wordpress.com, and bought the domain name and custom design package through wordpress.com. It is still hosted by wordpress.com. Am I still in the wrong place?
I thought .org was for sites hosted elsewhere. A friend has his site through .org, but his whole dashboard/back end is completely different from mine.
Can you please clarify?
And, if I am in the right place, I need help with the following:
1. I would like to change the transparency in the Modularity Lite theme to be all white, no transparency. (I’m aware that I’ll need to change font color.) But I don’t see in the code where the transparency is located.
2. I like the slideshow feature of Mod Lite, but would like to specify which photos it uses, as http://www.sondersphotography.com/blog/ does. His uses the same theme. Mod Lite pulls images from recent posts, but I’d like to specify which images in my media gallery it uses instead. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks, and if I still need to go to .ORG forums, please let me know, but my domain admin URL still specifies wordpress.com…
Any help would be appreciated.
You may have purchased the domain name through wordpress.COM, but http://www.sondersphotography.com/blog/ is self-hosted using the software from wordpress.ORG and is hosted at rackspace.com.
From the HTML:
<meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.2.1" />
If you were hosted at wordpress.com then the meta name generator would be:
<meta name="generator" content="WordPress.com" />
The nameservers for the URL are not wordpress.COM, they are:
You need to inquire over at the wordpress.ORG forums.
You are welcome.
