(Monthly) archiving widget not working

  1. mytorturedmind

Hi. I'm new here and to blogging so if I've done something wrong I apologise.

I've just set up a WordPress account ( and I'm gradually working my way around it and sorting it out &c.. I would like to set up an archive widget, which I have done on my page, and although I have 3 posts from March (each one dated by me and not by the theme) they are not showing on my archive list on the sidebar. I have followed all instructions to the letter but it is still not working. Am I jumping the gun a bit here? My BLOGGING page is a static page as I could not find the initial page to work on and change its contents (shows 'page not showing/listed &c.). Is it because the page is static it is not working? I would like this to work as I would like to make this as professional as possible in the look.

I chose the RESPONSIVE theme because, having A.D.D., it is clear, clean, crisp and easy on my eye. One negative: I would prefer 2 additional menus as opposed to a header and a footer because I'm not sure what they would be used for.

Also - my tags aren't working in the theme either. I know it's a different subject and I apologise for adding it to this post.

Any and all help is gratefully received.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Cee Jay.

I think it may be a good idea if you used the step by step tutorial provided by Staff. It's linked to the bottom of your Admin page at

I believe that you will also benefit from reading this post as there are many misconceptions about custom menus

Among the most common misconceptions is that blogger fails to understand that the static pages they create do not automatically update. Only the dynamic pages like Categories, Tags and Archives created by the software when we publish a post we that we have assigned Categories and Tags too will update automatically update with posts.

We organize Posts by assigning Categories and/or Tags to them. Then we add the dynamic Categories and/or Tags pages to the custom menu.

Thank you so much for giving to me some of your valuable time in pointing me in the right direction in regards to my intial query. I have since re-done the site by making BLOGGING a post and not a page and it appears to be working.

    Thank you again.

    With blessings.

    Cee Jay
