Move from WordPress.org WordPress.com Premium

  1. I want to move from a self hosted (Go Daddy) WordPress.org site to WordPress.com Premium site. IRCSLive.org

  2. I want you to read all of this very carefully first because WordPress.com blogs have restrictions and limitations you may not be aware of. > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  3. To move a blog see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-from-wordpress-org

Follow these instructions as you already have a domain that you registered elsewhere, and you want to map that domain to your free hosted WordPress.com blog. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

After you make the domain mapping purchase here > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and do the set up it can take between 24 - 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What's important during that stage is to be patient. Note that it's quite common for your own ISP to be last one to flush their DNS caches.

  4. Okay. http://ircscharlie.wordpress.com/ is your blog. You can buy upgrades on the Store page of the dashboard and import your other blog's contents on the Tools page.

  5. @ircscharlie

On a free hosted WordPress.com blog we are not allowed to have blogger initiated advertising or sponsored or paid content like you have on that site. You will have to remove the advertising and the spam prior to creating your export file and importing it into your free hosted WordPress.com blog. This is what gets a blog suspended at WordPress.com:
