Moving a blog

How can I let people know I’ve moved? I do still have four blogs on WordPress.com and intend to stay, but I just moved a fifth one to WordPress.org. People are still visiting the old one even though I have a post telling them to check the new place. I need to keep the old blog up because images did not transfer, but I could make it private. Is there a way for me to set up an automated message when people try to visit the old site telling them to go to the new one? If this is a better question for the other WP, let me know!

You can manually create a static front page on your blog to point visitors to your new site. Please go through the steps in this guide to create a static front page.

I think people are accessing the content through links to other pages, though, and this is where I also want to catch and redirect people. I am also linked on reference sites as well–is there any way to deflect these to the new site?

    Thanks for responding!

You can add a Site Redirect upgrade to automatically direct traffic to a site of your choosing: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
