Moving a site to a but keeping the hosting

  1. I have a site and I have paid for the website to be hosted at for one year starting about 2 weeks ago The domain is registered with another company. I am happy with the look of the website including the theme, which was a free theme, however, I need plugins for the website that I can't use with

Therefore, I want to move the whole website to and add the plugins and so on.

After that, I want to continue the website to be hosted at WordPress, using the same domain.

I have no idea how to do this and whether if it's possible to continue the hosting at

When I move the website to, will the hosting account be interrupted?

Can someone tell me about how to continue the hosting at WordPress or whether I have to cancel and start a new account?

I think I can move the website to a site on my own although I have never done it before, by looking up the internet for information, but I am not sure what happens to the hosting account when I do that.

The blog I need help with is

  2. Well, you sound confused.

There is no charge for hosting at You cannot have a site hosted at WordPress.Com.

You will have to find a host for software, pay for hosting, install the software there, and move it over. What happens to your account? Nothing. It will probably continue to outrank your account unless you set it to Private.

  3. How can I edit my original post or have it deleted. I want to hide my website link.

  4. I don't think you read my original post correctly. If you have your own domain name hosting at is not free.

  5. No, hosting at is free. A custom domain and mapping is not free.

  6. Domain Mapping $ 13.- / year - changes the name of your blog nothing more nothing less - hosting is still here

  7. You can expect to pay $120 and up per year for hosting for a blog.
