Moving an image on a post?

How do I simply re-position an image on a blog post?

The blog I need help with is

In your latest post, I see one image (fullsize) aligned left and a thumbnail aligned right. Then part of your text is below the thumbnail.
To solve that problem add this in the text editor, after the second picture:
    <br style="clear:both;"></br>

Exactly what do you want to do?

I just want to move the smaller image (on the right) to the bottom of the page, nearer the poetry line that it illustrates (on the left)
    Thank you for replying

In the text editor move the image code to the top of the last paragraph. You might have to place the code higher up in the previous paragraph or get rid of the caption so it doesn’t force a line break after “bandage.”

    <div id="attachment_343" class="wp-caption alignright" style="width:132px;"><a href=""><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-343" title="Cottage Porch in Key West" src="" alt="Before the killing heat" width="122" height="150" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Past shutters rocking chairs and limes</p></div><p>The surgeon sun will fit me legs, brace my back and bandage my eyes.<br />
    <em>I will be led to convalesce.<br />
</em><em>The gold gulf wind will draw me unobserved<br />
    </em><em>past shutters, rocking chairs and limes.<br />
</em><em>The machismo of yesterday is a hat by the water’s edge.</em></p>

I could not view your last post because of ‘blocked images’. Can you resend or tell me how to unblock any relevant image? Apologies for being a computer innocent.

Hmmm. I’ve never heard of that happening before. The code works in my test blog just fine.

The gist of it is that you just want to cut the image code then paste it just before the beginning of the last verse of the poem.

Alternately you could just delete the thumbnail and insert the shutters picture just before “The surgeon sun will…”

I suggested removing the redundant caption as well so you can avoid breaking that line.

Thank you 1tess. I found just deleting and re-entering the easiest. I had assumed I could drag and drop. Poetry presents Wp with problems and the ‘preview’ does not always match the end result. Thank you so much for your help.

The problem with dragging and dropping, especially in the Visual Editor is that you cannot see precisely where your cursor is. Having captions when dragging images also adds to the need to be exact.

You can eliminate all those em and br tags by setting the entire poem inside a div, like so:

    <div style="font-style:italic;">
<img class="alignright" title="cottage porch in key west" src="" alt="before the killing heat" width="122" height="150" />The surgeon sun will fit me legs, brace my back and bandage my eyes.
I will be led to convalesce.
The gold gulf wind will draw me unobserved
past shutters, rocking chairs and limes.
The machismo of yesterday is a hat by the water’s edge.</div>
