I want to move my site to a self-hosted platform. I tried exporting my current .com blog but it only gave me a 477KB sized tiny little .xml file. When I tried to import that file to my .org blog, nothing happens. Screen just goes blank. Am I doing anything wrong? Thank you.

The blog I need help with is

That file size sounds about right for your site so I don’t think anything is amiss there.

When you navigate to Tools -> Import -> WordPress on your self-hosted site, are you seeing a screen like this that allows you to select the file?

That should take you to a file where you can import or assign authors. Let me know if this isn’t working correctly on your side still!

    Hey jeremeylduvall,
Thank you for your support. I tried doing it for few times but I just couldn’t transfer my blog ‘completely’. Only a few of posts got moved but not all the media.
No worries, I did copying them with my hand as I had only a few posts. But I think you guys should check on this import feature. Thank you.

Sorry to hear you had to do this manually! I just tried the import on my side on a local site, and it worked correctly so I’m not sure what could have gone wrong here. If you have any trouble in the future, please let us know. I’ll be on the lookout for additional reports!
