    Hi

I’ve been a wordpress.com user for around six months now and I’m now looking to expand by moving to wordpress.org, so I can use custom themes/sell advertising space etc. I’ve read up on it and it all seems simple enough. But one thing I haven’t been able to understand is how I can export my blog to wordpress.org whilst keeping the domain name I already have. When I set up I paid a little extra for the example.com (not privately registered) as opposed to the default example.wordpress.com, but all of what I have read so far seems to be in accordance with those using the latter.

Furthermore, I already have a completely seperate self-hosted wordpress.org site with bluehost, so I’d also like to know if I can add my existing domain and create the site with this account or if I’d have to pay again.

Sorry if i’ve missed something blindingly obvious. Hope you can help.

    Josh

The blog I need help with is spainforpleasure.com.

If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers.
