I have jetpack installed.
Also is there any way to redirect views from my wordpress.com to the co.uk one?
The blog I need help with is ninegrandstudent.wordpress.com.
Thanks for confirming that you already have the jetpack plugin installed on your self-hosted WP site.
I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance. Please be patient while they get back to you.
As far as redirecting your views: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
Since the redirect is a 301 permanent redirect, you’d only need this upgrade for a year.
BTW – Do note the notice about the permalink structure needing to be the same in order for that upgrade to work.
I’m not too sure what you mean about the permalink structure – I’m not too keyed up on the technical knowledge!
The default post permalink structure used here on WordPress.com is “day & name” (i.e. post name).
When you have a self-hosted WordPress site, you can choose from several post permalink structures. If you don’t keep the “date & name” permalink structure on your self-hosted site, then the redirect upgrade won’t work correctly. But since it appears you are, it’s not an issue. :)
Let’s wait now for staff to reply to move your subscribers. Meantime, you’ll want to read this http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site
I have moved over your WordPress.com subscribers and stats to http://ninegrandstudent.co.uk/ as requested.
Please keep in mind that while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site. You might want to post a notice on your old site about your upcoming move to keep your readers informed.
auntiestress – You are good to go. Let me know if you want to move your site stats too.
Good to go – I like that! Thank YOU!
