Multiple draft copies of the same post

  1. This has happened the two times I used the 'New Post' tab on!/post/

When I write the post and then publish it, wordpress is generating what appears to be separate copies of each version. So, I will have the 1 published post and then 15-20 other posts in 'draft' mode.

This is definitely a repeatable bug. I can send screen shots if that will help.

The blog I need help with is

  2. Are you referring to post revisions? The Post Revisions module shows any backup copies of your post. Each time you click Save Draft or Update Post, a revision is saved. will store the last 25 revisions for each post on your blog. Post Revisions allow you to look back at the recent changes you’ve made and revert to an earlier version if you need to.

  3. This is happening to me too. I posted for the first time today and both a draft version and final version appear on my actual blog and I am unable to remove one of them.

  4. Please read this and answer me. Are you referring to post revisions?

  5. hi timetheif,

No I am not referring to post revisions. I know this for two reasons: 1) I have to delete the drafts and 2) I have used revisions to recover an autosave of a post.

WP appears to create separate draft copies of the same post. Here's a link to a screen shot from my post dashboard. You'll see the first published post and then a bunch of other drafts (not revisions).

I did not create these draft posts, all of them were automatically created when I was typing a post using!/post/.

99% of the time I use the 'standard' add post located at:

And I do not have this problem, but am able to see plenty of revisions at the bottom of the standard form.

    I'm using Google Chrome (17.0.963.79 m) on Windows 7

This is the blog in question: and I thank you for replying and supplying details and a screenshot. I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.

  7. Were you saving at all while writing the post?

  8. Hi macmanx,

No, there is no save button on the form that displays when I click on this link!/post/.

There is only the 'publish' button.

In both cases, I wrote a post, then hit the 'publish' button one time.

  9. Ok, thanks for confirming. We'll look into this.

  10. fyi: Same deal here. I'm seeing multiple drafts in the same fashion. Each one appears to be separated by 3 minutes.

  11. Hi there,
This is to let you know this thread has been flagged for Staff attention.

  12. Which editor were you using? Was it the Visual editor tab, HTML editor tab, full screen editor, or New Post tab ?

  13. The new post tab.

  14. Were you in your own blog's Dashboard?
Or were you on the home page?
Were uopu using this Visual editor?
Or were you using the HTML editor?
