    My blog,

Makes me think that your have a WordPress.ORG install Blog on your own host and not on WordPress.COM or a site that is mapped from WordPress.COM.

  4. I wrote a n article today and saved it as a draft until I could figure out where to place on my blogsite. When I went back to retrieve it, voooom, it had vanished - no recent drafts! Anyone able to help me? Also, how do I get new articles to appear on my frontpage - the first article seems to be stuck there - most sites seem to move them on.

  5. As far as I can see, you only have one post. How many posts do you think you've made?

When you look under Drafts, look also under Pages, not just Posts. Sometimes people make pages instead by accident.

  6. When you make a post into a "sticky" post it always remains at the top of the front page. Edit the post in question and remove the "sticky" designation.

The post you created will be in your draft posts. Or if you accidentally created a page then it will be in your draft pages.

  7. Hi Dreaamcoaster,
I've actually written 5 or 6 but lost them due to inexperience with WordPress. This time I thought I was doing the right thing by saving the article as a draft and then went off to figure out how to get it to appear as a post - not sure what I seem to have been doing wrong. So much for a simple write and post site!

Did you click the links I provided above and look for the drafts?

Also note that if you use Windows Live Writer to create posts and pages in and publish from it to your blog then you will always have an automatically create backup on your own computer.
