my blog’s layout is messed up
I am new on WordPress. I was trying to add a tag from PayPerPost Tool and have completely fucked up my blog’s layout. Now, even though I try to change to a new theme, the new theme’s messed up too. I don’t really know CSS but i checked the codes and nothing seems to be wrong with it. I have already taken out the html tag from PayPerPost, so technically, the layout should go back to normal but it’s not.
PLEASE. PLEAAAASE HELP!
PayPerPost is not allowed. Blogger initiated advertising is not allowed. And wordpress.com blogs cannot be used to drive traffic to 3rd party sites. Doing these things will result in blog deletion.

I’m suggesting that if these are your inclinations then the other wordpress option is the one that will suit you better. Hire a webhost and download a free template from http://wordpress.org. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700
PPP is not allowed? Is this a new ruling by wordpress or what? How come there are other wordpress users using PPP? The html code from PPP is just a tracker code as far as I am concern. Does this mean that we cannot write paid posts on WordPress anymore?
Oh dear…it’s wordpress.org and not .com, I wasn’t aware that there are two different ones. Thanks anyway.
We have no access to the underlying html and php files for our blogs and cannot edit our templates at wordpress.com http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/09/27/edit-my-templates/
Usually when a lay out “breaks” it’s because the blogger has inserted an image that’s too large into the blogging space http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/
But I have already taken out the affected “code”, so shouldn’t my blog’s layout resume back to normalcy? Why is it still breaking?
Did you copy and paste any text into it?
I’ve only added one line, and it was the PPP tool html tag. I took it out already.
Did you purchase a css upgrade before msessing with the css? If not then the reason you are seeing a black background could be because your blog is in “preview” mode and all the css changes you make will disappear when you log out.
Yes I did purchase the CSS upgrade before “messing” with the CSS codes – i purchased the upgrade less than an hour ago….:/
I am hopeless with programming CSS and I didn’t think it’d be such a headache just because I added a line of HTML tag – which I took off after.
I have also tried logging in and out, still no avail.
I’m sensing that you didn’t spend any time reading the FAQs prior to diving in and that this is all coming as a surprise to you. That’s really too bad.
Okay, so this is the deal. The css upgrade is not recommended to those who do not have css editing experience because there is not staff support for “learning css”. You can appeal to staff for help during support hours 9-5 PM Pacific time using this link http://wordpress.com/contact-support/
You sensed correct. In a way i did brought this upon myself but I didn’t think a line could do this much damage anyway; which is why I am at this forum seeking help.
My other blog uses CSS too but it allows us to access the HTML portion of the codes – it’s just different here as I’ve read.
I have already contacted support via that link – hoping they’d reimburse me since I just bought the upgrade less than an hour ago. If they don’t, i’ll just stick an html code from scratch on to this then. Geezus.
Don’t shoot the messanger. I’m sorry this didn’t go well for you however, I have more bad news. If you check the upgrades page you will find the “no refunds” policy statement.
In addition to all of the free features of WordPress.com, we offer a few options for paid upgrades for enhanced functionality. Credits cost $1 each. The buttons below will bring you to a Paypal page where they can be purchased. We do not offer refunds on credits or products purchased on WordPress.com.
yes but on the other page, they said they don’t USUALLY give refunds. while i am aware that they don’t do refunds as a common practice, it doesn’t mean I can’t try. so your “bad news” is not unexpected. :)
btw, it’s spelled as “messenger”.
Thanks for the spelling lesson. I’m visually and physically challenged and I was so busy dealing with the 8 of you that I didn’t take the time to focus well enough to see my error. :D
Anyway, if you do get a refund please be sure to post that good news here, as there are others who would like very much to know this.
Happy blogging :)
