My new blog title was deleted before I could use it!
-
Hi WordPress! I recently deleted my first blog and tried to create a new one with my new username. I checked earlier and it said it was available, but when I tried to create it, it said it was deleted by the user! Help! I really want to use my new username.

It’s unfortunate that you deleted the blog. The instructions include 3 warnings that deleted blog URLs are not recycled and also require clicking a verification link in an email to complete the deletion. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

I saw the warnings. I wasn’t trying to delete the blog that I was trying to create. I had a blog up for a school assignment that I was deleting. I saw all of the highlighted warnings. I deleted it. I went to create a new blog. It gave me the checkmark that the blog title was still available. When I finished creating the blog, I went to go see what the theme of the blog was by going to the actual blog and it informed me it was deleted. The second blog had NO relation to the first. I never clicked delete on the second blog. It disappeared, but informs me that it has been deleted by the user, something I did not do.
