my post found on others blogg with no credit or link to it!!
as a complete newbie at blogging culture
i need advise pls
what to do about a blogger having copied and pasted my post into thier blog and not crediting me with the link from which it came!
How did they copy all my codes in edit mode?!
have i selected something that allows others to copy and paste my codes!
this is scary
i left a comment which they are unlikely to publish:
…it’s odd seeing the post i put together
“YOUR BACK & NECK MUSCLES – WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE @
appearing on your blog with out a credit or a link to my blog!
it’s a tad creepy making out that you put this together on your blog!
it ain’t ethical in my book and if you are intending to become a professional blogger you will not be respected or used as it will be based on deceit and theft
either remove this entry or just add a credit to my blog
that way you instantly become ethical!
all the best
Health Center Blog
Paxil Effexor Lexapro Pamelor Zyprexa
just tried to go to the blog and it comes up with an error!
i still need advice on how to handle plagiarists in the future
i found this rogue bloggerist link in the new layout dashboard? which shows who is linked to our blog – their link of course
need to look for it again to check out who else has plegerized and passed them selves off to be brilliant! [or not!]
Do a forum search for “Blog scraper” or “Splog” and you will find many suggestions. All the .info sites I’ve ever seen have been like this. There are lots of suggestions in the pre-existing threads and nothing to add, so read them and choose which of the solutions you want to act on.
I just found this while typing something in google about scraping:
It gives some good tips and while its no solution, it help somewhat…
There is also this guy:
That has a lot of info about scrapping/what to do about it etc but I think it’s more useful for those on a .org wordpress acount..
But yeah as raincoaster said, theres a LOT of stuff around the forum, look around and you will find a lot of things to do…
hoh kay raincoaster!

pls tell me if i’m being unethical too!
if i find something i think is brilliant i copy some of the text putting it in inverted comers and include the link to that page
would you be happy my doing this with some of your content?
would you want me to contact you to ask for your permission to have a link to your blog/article?
what is the protocol/etiquette?
I was affected by the same issue with the same website. They stole an entire personal post of mine, the original of which is as per this link, and gave me no credit!
This was very distressing. They had the content up on their website, images and all, as per this link
I used a tried and tested method to report them and it (seemed to) work as the website was taken down :D
– I noticed the link to the plagiarised work in my ‘Incoming Links’. I clicked and saw what they had stolen.
– In Firefox, I clicked on the ‘Help’ drop down menu, then selected ‘Report Web Forgery’. This took me to Google’s page for reporting scam/ fake websites. I told Google that this person breached my copyright on a lengthily personal post and that my ownership of the material was demonstrable by my signing the post at the bottom and several links back to my website. I made the point that this website seemed like a fake, set up to generate ad revenue from volume traffic. FYI This is FAR more likely to get under Google’s skin.
– It may be coincidence but less then 24 hours after reporting them, the page/ site were taken down.
This is not the first time I have had entire posts taken forcefully off other peoples websites when they stole my content. I have had at least 6 taken down! The first thing you should do is report any stolen content to Google as a Web Forgery and give as much detail as you can. Never just let it slide.
Another tactic I use is including copy that claims my ownership of the text so that people can’t syphon off the first paragraph/ the whole thing (the norm for scrapers) without making it obvious that the copy is stolen. If you are interested in how I went about this I wrote about it here
Good job TheLostGirl! I clicked on their site and it seems to be taken down! I suppose one great thing about this is that if these scrapers take so much content from so many different people, they will be bound to upset a number of people and hopefully most will complain to google about it and they will remove the ads!
Question to anyone who knows the technical details: Do most scrappers use google ads? I would think it would be most problematic if a scraper uses ads that were not from google… (But I guess they wont make as much money then anyway!)
thanx your all for yr input
have no idea who the rogue’s site is hosted by
i did look for anything with google or yahoo in it
i’ve decided that if a site doesn’t have the name and contact email they are non blogs!
i think we ought to start a blog to expose and shame all these bastards in a very tasteful way!
i’m not volunteering………
if i can’t see the host/sever of said bastard to who do i complain…….
>>>if i find something i think is brilliant i copy some of the text putting it in inverted comers and include the link to that page would you be happy my doing this with some of your content?
I excerpt stuff all the time from other sites/blogs. Never the entire piece. And I always include the link back to the original post. No one ever complains. And I never complain when people do that to me.
As for the splogs, I get ripped off daily. The splogs don’t last, though, so I’m not going to waste time going nuts about them.
mikecane – not sure to whom you were addressing your question… but if you wanted to quote from me respectfully as you described and then linking back to me, I’d have no problem.
>>>i think we ought to start a blog to expose and shame all these bastards in a very tasteful way!
If they had any shame to begin with, they wouldn’t be doing it.
A lot of this stuff is done by people in other countries, btw. They set up these splogs to rake in Google AdSense bucks.
I won’t even mention legitimate blogs in other languages that sometimes rip off, translate, and post stuff as if *they* authored it!
hay mikecane – i get yr point about shaming the blogging psychopaths
>As for the splogs, I get ripped off daily. The splogs don’t last, though, so I’m not going to waste time going nuts about them
daily!? Gosh that’s terrible
you must be putting great things on your blog
your comment was really helpful – i saved myself hrs of ranting and raving!
i felt so incensed about the sploging that i was going to put loads of energy into telling them what for and exposing them!
i ignored it and carried on with the important stuff
iamthelostgirl – the positive side is that your content is what people want to read!
which countries mikecane?
how do you find this out?
do i sense a smidging of xenophobia?!
How do you know this if it has been translated
has this happened to you?
Rest assured that their karma will take care of their unethical actions!
It would be nice to know how things turn out for them hay?
thanx you all……..
