my stats have stopped working
(1) How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.
(2) Are you using the secure https:// login?
(3) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ Note you can upgrade any browser version of download another browser to try here > http://browserhappy.com.
(4) Have you tried using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled?
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported.
The stats seem to have kicked back in since you accessed the blog. I’ll see how it goes and refer back to your advice if they go down again.
It could be that there were no stats to report for today but on friday I got some likes and follows but no views were showing on the graph.
Thank you very much for your help
Likes and shares numbers are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat. Those who have username accounts only but no blog can become followers and click the “like” and/or “share” buttons. Those who do not have accounts cannot use the like button. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/07/09/wordpress-followers-likes-and-stats/
Note: To compel readers to click into my blog to read the full post thereby creating a page view stat, I have set my RSS Feed for posts to “summary” on this page > Settings > Reading
I’m very new to blogging but I’ve signed up to follow One Cool Site and I will check this out first in future.
Thanks for much for choosing to follow my blog. :)
Hey…THANKS! Timethief, I just took your advice and figured out how to change my new IE9 to remove compatibility mode. Now I CAN see my Stats! And I can now also see the Reader! Whew! Cleaning things up after getting a new computer is such a pain.
A millions thanks, timethief! I’ll be looking for your blog.
Hooray! I love happy endings. :)
