My webmaster let my domain expire; I'd like to renew.

  1. My blog sat dormant. My webmaster let the domain expire in November. He finally transferred ownership of the blog to me. Now, I'm trying to renew but I can't find the renew button. Please help. Thanks, Logan Ward

The blog I need help with is

  2. Are you the Admin of that blog? What is the underlying URL? It will have the form instead of

  3. is showing that it expires in 2015 and was registered at It looks like you got this taken care of.

  4. You have two different things to renew - your domain name at as @TSP notes above

then there is Domain Mapping to keep your blog showing your when people visit your site - that is renewed here

Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades
Dashboard >> Store >> Billing History

  5. First, thanks for the quick replies. Yes, my domain is up-to-date, but I need to renew the Domain Mapping. At Billing History, there is no history. And at My Upgrades, there is no Renew button. I think the problem stems from the fact that a different owner (my Webmaster) originally set up my blog but transferred it to me after it expired. I guess I have to start over by adding a domain, but I worry that if I do that, I'll screw something up. Any ideas?

  6. Did your webmaster perhaps do the domain mapping through a different username account? That could be the reason you can't find it.

What you can do though is to go to store > store and click on the "mapping" link in the domains module at upper left and do the domain mapping yourself from your user account. That way you have control over it.

  7. If you follow the instructions @TSP gave above you should be good to go -

You can ask the old owner to transfer the domain mapping upgrade to you and you can renew it - on the EXACT account that owns and upgrade can renew it - the good news is that the critical part is the Domain name registration which is OK -

If the old owner can't transfer the domain mapping to you - (Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> there is a transfer button) or the staff can move it for you - but the original owner would need to log in here and ask for the transfer to your account - small very clear words please -

If the domain mapping has expired you can just purchase it again - but the staff will need to clear something for you to do that

I will flag this for the staff to help you just in case

  8. Yep, it was just domain mapping, so I removed the expired upgrade.

You can now map the domain yourself following this guide:

  9. Excellent! Thanks for the help.

  10. You be welcome & good luck

  11. You're welcome!
