Mysterious gray image box in media library
A few days ago, while using ‘Add Image’ to upload an image to my site (which uses the Suburbia theme), a blank gray image box suddenly appeared with the other existing images, and since then I haven’t been able to change the alignment or size of any photo while in the ‘Attachment Display Settings’ area: it’s stuck on ‘Center’ and ‘Full Size’, and though I can change both in the dropdown box, neither ever ‘sticks’…it reverts back to ‘Center’ and ‘Full Size’. I also cannot remove the gray box. Then when I tried to add an image to my other blog site today (Coraline theme), the gray box appeared again, and now I can’t change alignment or size there, either! Help!
The blog I need help with is derbykiller.wordpress.com.
Did you ever figure out how to resolve this problem? I’m having the same issue.
No, not yet. It happened to one of my sites a week ago, and then suddenly again last night on my other site…which makes no sense, since they’re two different themes! And I did nothing out of the ordinary (that I’m aware of) to make this happen…I just added two different images from two different files on my computer.
I only posted this comment last night, so hopefully somebody will help us out soon!
I am facing the same problem on two different wordpress sites hosted on two different servers. Using woocommerce, but the latest version of wordpress.
Please can someone help!
Uh Arjunmukherjee I think you are in the wrong place, since you are referring to wordpress.ORG features (version, hosted, servers) so you should head over to http://wordpress.org/support for assistance since this is the wordpress.COM forum.
As for the real issue, I have no idea.
Oh, I am Sorry, I just found out the issue if that helps out anyone. It was a problem with the Smart Managet Plugin. Disabling it, solved a LOT of my problems. :)
Arjunmukherjee, I tried to find this Smart Managet (Management?) plugin on both of my sites, but couldn’t. I don’t remember ever knowingly adding this plugin to either site, so maybe it’s not there, but if it is…any ideas on where to find it, so I can disable it?
We’re aware of the issue and looking into it.
Just an update: it appears the mysterious gray box has disappeared now from the ‘Insert Media’ window of images, which is great…but under the ‘Attachment Display Settings’, I still can’t switch the Alignment dropdown or the Size dropdown…they’re still stuck on ‘center’ and ‘large’, and even though I’m able to change the actual dropdown choice, the image will still appear on a page or post as centered and large.
