Need help finding my blog!

  1. I have set my privacy settings so that my blog may be visable to all search engines however, I cannot locate my blog when I search in Google, wordpress, etc...

Can you help? I would like to start getting some hits!

    Thank you, Thank you!

The blog I need help with is

  2. Have you posted anything after the blog is set to public?

  3. I haven't, no. Although, I have made "updates" to a few of my posts. Should I re-post everything?

  4. Hi guys! I ran in to same problem, can not find my blog in the internet I will appreciate for any assistance.

  5. Have you registered and and verified your blog with Google, Yahoo and Bing?
If so then take note that it can take 4- 6 weeks for your blog posts to begin to appear in search engine results.

  6. Thanks Timethief!)

  7. You're welcome. I can also give you a couple of tips.
    (1) If you are aware of and using basic SEO elements this may expedite the appearance of your blog posts in the SERPs (search engine results pages).
    (2) If you have created an archive of 20 -30 high quality posts and you are actively promoting your posts this may lead to other bloggers are backlinking to them in posts of there own. If so, then this may expedite the appearance of of your blog posts in the SERPs (search engine results pages).
Best wishes for happy blogging and effective networking. :)

  8. re-posting things is not going to help. Post NEW things.

  9. When you edit a post, the search engines are not pinged by wordpress. WordPress only pings when you publish a new post.

If your blog was private, and is now public, it can take up to 6 weeks before Google and the other search engines will completely index it and figure out where to put you in searches. Figure on about 6 months to build enough search engine juice so that you start showing up higher in searches.

@kkstephens and trigenics, your blogs have not yet been indexed by Google or Bing:

See this support document for verifying your blog with Google, Yahoo and Bing: .

  10. Thank you so much, everyone! I have been trying to utilize this information but I am still running into some troubles.

I've tried to register my blog with Google and Yahoo but I only get an invalid response. What do I do then?

Also, I downloaded some plugins and then after further reading, discovered that only software programs allow for plugins? Is this correct? If not, I can't find any of my plugins in my homepage.

All of you comments are greatly appreciated! I am determind to master this!

  11. blogs do not need plugins installed manually by users since they are well taken care of by the system. Read the sticky up top to get informed the difference between .com vs .org. And as previously suggested, all you need to do is publish new things regularly on your blog then Automattic should forge search engines to index those almost immediately through, no verification needed actually.
