Need to create a blog that can populate 2 separate blogs

My husband and I both write about baseball, but we each take a separate viewpoint. We have had separate blogs for years but decided that we would like to have one place where people could read our different takes, but do not want to give up our original blogs.

What I want to do is to create a blog, say called She VS Him where we would post our regular content on a shared blog, but then I would be able to have my post then post to my blog separately, and his posts would populate his original blog, again separately.

    I hope this makes sense.

I’m not sure of the terminology, or I’d try searching myself.

I’m a little stymied as to how to do this…..

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is baseballbetsy.wordpress.com.

Just to clarify, I’d want our personal blogs to populate automatically. I know I can copy and paste them, but with the amount of photos and links we use, it would be a tedious process.

Auto populating a blog with content from another site is against the terms of service as is having a mirror site – Also not so good for search engines – yes I think not exactly a mirror – but close enough that if they were my sites I would be concerned

Seems to me that what you want is some good old fashioned chainsaw to the head rivalry – each do your normal Posts – then when you want to rip each other a new whatever – make a new Rip things up Post – take a few of the worst quotes from the other and put then in block quotes – then rip on the quote with a link back to the Post the quote came from

just my don’t care for sports much opinion

I have seen many opinion pieces written that just take a few sentences from another source then do a rip on the quote – common in political sites

    good luck

Please read the types of blogs that are not allowed:

Automated blogs: Blogs that are generated by computers, including randomly generated blogs, blogs that re-publish press releases, marketing material, search engine results, link dumps or any other mass-produced content. https://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/

Bottom line: We WordPress.COM bloggers are not provided with the ability to “splog” ie. there are no tools provided that we can use to fill posts or pages with content from RSS Feeds.

You may also want to read what Google says about deliberately duplicating content across domains, https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66359?hl=en

The effect on SEO on the blog with the original content being displayed in the SERPs (search engine page results) is a negative one, and the duplicate gets tossed into supplementary results where sun don’t shine.

The RSS Widget displays posts from any RSS feed. You might find this handy if you want to show off one of your other blogs, or one of your favorite blogs, in your sidebar.

@TT – thanks for the RSS widget thing – overlooked it

Putting the RSS widget below the Archives should work nice – but I would change the Archives to a drop down – showing a long list of months is annoying to me

I am an obesseive thread tagger so tag search is always productive here. ;) The RSS widgets can only be used in sidebars and footer areas. They cannot be used to populate post or pages. If they could be used to splog then I would be out of here in a thrice.

@TT – I know you tag a lot – I just forgot the RSS Widget as a way to help – even though I use it myself & the put in sidebar was just a formatting suggestion with the Archive Widget – would not like to see the RSS in the main section since that makes a splog easy and automatic

wait, it’s not for advertising purposes, let me make that clear. We both talk about baseball and have different viewpoints. We have had our separate blogs for years and would hate to lose readers but at the same time, we thought it might be be easier if we had one site that we would post on and then have his viewpoint then automatically post on his page, mine on my separate page. It’s nothing to do with advertising, we have none on our page. It’s just that we didn’t want to lose long time readers. We would NOT be re-blogging anything but our own posts! It is just a lot of work, we have a lot of video content/photos to try to do two separate blogs as we do now…and I was hoping that I could do one blog and let it auto-update the original separate blogs.

Please don’t accuse me of being some sort of thief, stealing content or reposting other people’s work. That’s insulting to automatically accuse someone of nefarious purposes.

Your accusations make me want to quit wordpress altogether. how freaking rude.
