Need to decrease white space above sub headings

  1. Hi, can someone please help me figure out how to reduce the space above the two sub headings I have on one of my web pages. The current code I am using is;

    <p><strong>This page is still under construction, please check back later.</strong></p></p> <p><p style="text-align:justify;"><h5>Origins</h5><a href="" title="Wikipedia page on Militant"><img style="float:right;border:0 solid #aaa;padding:5px;" src=""></a>"The <a href="" title="Wikipedia page on Militant">Militant tendency</a>, originally the Revolutionary Socialist League, was a Trotskyist entryist group within the British Labour Party based around the Militant newspaper which was first published in 1964."</p></p> <p><p style="text-align:justify;">"Between 1989 and 1991 Militant led the All-Britain Anti-Poll Tax Federation's non-payment campaign against the Community Charge ('poll tax'). In 1991, Militant decided by a large majority to abandon entryism in the Labour Party. Ted Grant, once the group's most important member, was expelled, and his breakaway minority, now known as Socialist Appeal, continued with the entryist strategy. The majority changed its name to Militant Labour, and then in 1997 to the Socialist Party."</p></p> <p><p style="text-align:justify;"><h5>Current Contextt</h5><a href="" title="The Socialist Party">The Socialist Party</a> fights for socialist change – a democratic society run for the needs of all and not the profits of a few. We also fight, in our day-to-day campaigning, for every possible improvement for working-class people. <a href="" title="Committee for a Workers International'"><img style="float:left;border:0 solid #aaa;padding:5px;" src=""></a>As capitalism dominates the globe, the struggle for genuine socialism must be international. The Socialist Party is part of the <a href="" title="Committee for a Workers International'"> Committee for a Workers International'</a> (CWI), a democratic, socialist international that organises in over 40 countries.</p><br />

    The blog I need help with is

  2. If you are working in the Visual editor, to get single spacing between paragraphs hold the SHIFT key down and simultaneously click ENTER at the end of the paragraph. If you are working in the HTML editor, a single click of ENTER will give you a single-spaced line, and two clicks of ENTER will result in double spaced lines. More here > WordPress Formatting and Spacing

  3. I've disabled the visual editor, and only work in html mode. As you can see from the code I pasted, the excess space hasn't been created by a double click of Enter.

  4. I don't help with CSS editing and did not read the code you posted above. I thought it was possible that what I posted would be useful to you and I do apologize as it wasn't. Please be patient while waiting for Staff to help you.

  5. Link to the page in question please.

  6. You have erroneously put an opening paragraph tag before each heading. Instead of this:

    <p style="text-align:justify;">

    You should write this:

    <p style="text-align:justify;">PARAGRAPH CONTENT</p>

    Two notes:
    a) We always need a link to the blog in question when it's not the one linked to your username.
    b) To display code correctly here, you need to enclose it in backticks (see below reply field). But when you're referring to a published post or page, you don't have to paste the code: we can see your code.

  7. Thanks for the help, appreciated.
