New Girl in Town!

Just started a blog as an opportunity to share my artwork. Sadly, I’m a complete virgin to the land of blogging and would love any helpful hints you all could throw my way. Sorry, this is a broad request so I’ll try to narrow it down: If I could only learn one thing today about blogging, what “one thing” would be the most helpful.

The blog I need help with is

Don’t put high quality images online without a watermark.

Resize your photos before you upload them, and make sure the new size is optimized for your theme — don’t upload a 1200px x 800px image then downsize it afterwards to meet the size restrictions of you blog theme.

This photo, for example, is too big / completely wrong:
    533.56 KB (546,368 bytes)
    1,200px × 800px (scaled to 1,007px × 671px)

Modifying the size *after* uploading just causes unnecessary distortion, and the large size of the file just makes it harder for people to see it, and easier for people to steal it and use it elsewhere.

    Hope this helps.
