"New Post" Button is covering "Screen Options" button

  1. I figure I messed up some where on set up.

On my dashboard, in the upper left corner there is a "screen options" button.

Mine is covered by a "New Post" button and I haven't been able to move it.

The blog I need help with is

  2. We need a link to the blog please.

Forgive me, I don't know how to make this a link, but you can copy and paste, Yes?

I don't know if this is what you need because the problem is in the dashboard and you have to log on for that.

  4. The link you provided is fine, and thank you.

First off, try logging out of wordpress, clearing your browser cache and cookies, restarting your browser and then try again. This may very well fix the issue. Do you have another browser installed on your computer? If so, try with that browser and see if you experience the same problem.

If not, what browser/browser version/operating system are you using, and what is your screen resolution set to?

  5. Thanks for your help.

I hesitated deleting cookies because it sounded like I would be deleting all of them and I use them. Pardon my lack of knowledge.

However, I did go to the site from a different computer and the problem remained.

I'm using MS Internet Explorer, latest addition.

My screen resolution is set for 1024 by 768.

  6. Screen resolution should be fine. As far as deleting cookies, it would delete all of them, but when you go back to the sites that had put them on your computer, they will just put a new one on so it isn't really a problem.

I have my browsers set up to automatically delete cookies every time I close them so that I don't end up with a bunch of tracking cookies following my every move on the web.

Since I don't have internet exploder, I can't look at my dashboard to see if I'm having the same problem.

Try logging out, emptying your browser cache, restarting your browser and then looking to see if the problem is resolved.

  7. Thanks again for your patients.

    I logged out.

I I clicked on "delete cookies" Broser showed an "in progress window"

I restarted the browser then logged to the blog.

    Rats. It's still there.

  8. My only other suggestion is to delete cookies and try again then. No one else is reporting this issue so I'm pretty sure it is something on your computer that is causing the issue.

You might try downloading and installing Firefox and see if the issue goes away with it.

  9. OK, thanks.

BTW, My choices were to delete:
    1 Temp internet files
    2 cookies
    3 history
    4 passwords

I deleted only cookies, any thoughts?

  10. I'm out of ideas.

    Did you try Firefox yet?

  11. Well I thank you so much for your help.

I have not tried Firefox yet.

The only other idea I have is to change themes and then change back.

If it works I'll let you know.

I've got to hit the road, so I won't try anything until late tonight or maybe over the weekend.

I thank you and everyone at WordPress

  12. Solution has been found.

If I change my resolution from 1024 by 768 to 1152 by 864 the problem goes away.

    Now the odd thing.

At 1152 by 864 my desk top is larger them my laptop screen so I changed back to 1024 by 768, and went merrily on my way.

I checked in at my blog and who would have thunk? Its now working fine at 1024 by 768.

    Electrons can sure be confusing!
