Newbie quest> Font re-size, text colors and ID'g my template
Just published my first blog and overall great experience (compared to Blogger.com). For now the only toolbar options I see are bold, italics but no font types, no font sizes and no color text options???? Feel I am either overlooking them or the basic free tools are severely limited.
Using the free blog am I able to change the color of selected text i.e. article titles? If yes….how?
Also, am I able, without the design upgrade, to change the size of fonts? If yes, how?
I am creating a new second blog and was unable to locate the template I used for my first blog. How do I look up the name of my original template?
The blog I need help with is ctnsummer2012.wordpress.com.
These are 3 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.
(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML (Text) editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/
(2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2
(3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
Note: A few themes do provide for changing font color in the Blog Title and/or optional Tagline and/or links. In the majority of themes font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, menu, post titles, page titles, categories and tags, widget headings and text, comments, and links cannot be done without CSS editing.
The theme you are using is default theme Twenty Twelve and there’s a link in the footer to the theme description > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentytwelve/
Great reply Timethief! Have spent a few hours sorting it out with much success. I am ok on text color & font size changes now that I see Row #2.
I do not see any way to change the font type i.e. to airal etc. Can it be changed on the free blog? If not I can live with it.
I set up a new blog newsletter intending to match all the settings of the original Summer blog. Seem OK with one exception.
If you would kindly compare the two there is the Summer blog text blue background that I like and which still eludes me (I only get white in the new Winter blog). Plus the new Winter ‘experiment’ has a sharp left edge while the Summer blog has a nice shaded blue strip on the left side. Any idea what setting I missed to have the Winter blog with the same ‘blue’ text background as the Summer blog?

PS: Am not looking to take up your valuable time. Thinking you might know the answer off the cuff. Else, I will be doing all the tutorials and will likely bump into it.
