Newsletter Widget

I was wondering if there was a widget for newsletters. Something where I could upload a pdf to. And the readers will be able to download or view the pdf on the computer. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is

  2. You can upload the PDF to your media library, get the URL of that PDF and then use a text widget and put the link to it in there.

Thanks for the help and the amazingly quick response. It kinda worked.
I uploaded the PDF to the media Library, got the URL of the PDF and then used it in an Image widget and put the cover of the newsletter in the Image URL with a link to the PDF URL.
    It looks great!!!! Thanks~!

  4. I hadn't thought of doing it that way, but that is probably a better way since they have a nice image to draw them to it.

  5. You could also embed the pdf in a post (or page) using scribd?

  6. I was a bit left behind by this computer stuff (I got transferred by the demise of MSN Spaces) - what's a widget?

  7. Widgets are the modules you can put into your sidebar to show things like recent posts or recent comments, or your categories.

  8. Hi,

I love having a blog with WP but I would like to start sending out a newsletter to my fans who receive my weekly emails.

I have created a newsletter using the templates on my computer and I love the result!

The problem is, I tried to send one and the person was able to see my other documents, etc.

How do I get the newsletter onto Word Press? I am NOT computer savvy so if you can speak in Blonde, that would be great!

    Thank you so much!!! :)

  9. Also, I meant to ask...a lot of people see my blog on FB, Twitter, etc. but when I do a newsletter, only certain people have subscribed to receive one. How do I make sure that only they get a copy?

    Thanks again! :)

  10. You can create PDF file and upload the PDF to your media library, get the URL of that PDF and then use a text widget and put the link to it in there like thesacred said above..

  11. There's another alternative as well. provides a follow blog subscription feature that can be used as a newsletter feature or a way to send updates to readers via email. We could set up a second blog that’s strictly for newsletters and then set up a follow blog subscription widget on the blog. Every post in the blog would be a newsletter and subscribers get the newsletters by email. If you wish you can then create a custom menu in your main blog and include a custom link in it to your newsletter blog.

  12. Thank you so much for your help!

I am just feeling overwhelmed! I tried the first suggestion and got totally lost.

I want to keep the design I created on my computer and want only certain people to be able to see it since they have subscribed.

How do I get that design put into a blog newsletter?

I know I sound stupid but this is totally new to me! :)

    Thanks again! :)

  13. That's a much more complicated question, and really out of the range of a forum. There are tons of guides on how to put a newsletter together, though. My advice: use a contact form on a page to get people to sign up, then create a google group for them and sent out the email to that group only.

  14. Hi,

I took the advice of TimeThief and created another blog just for my newsletter.

I would like to be able to underline some things in the post but don't see an area to be able to do that.

Plus, I tried to add a FOLLOW me widget but it will not come through on the page.

I notice at the top there is a follow and I clicked it and I got an email saying that "I" was following the blog. When I clicked the link, it went to my main blog and not my newsletter.

    I am so frustrated!

    Thanks! :)

  15. Re distributing newsletter on our blog too - Q is this: may our monthly newsletter take paid ads in it? Ad would be only in the newsletter, not on blog pages. Answer anyone here? or email please, [email redacted], thanks.

  16. @ccacblog: You would have to ask staff directly at (The link is expected to be active later today)

  17. i used that link earlier today - and there was no information online that i could find; is it possible to contact someone via email?

  18. @ccacblog: I repeat...

The link is expected to be active later today

If it doesn't work now, please try again later.

  19. thank you - i will guess that you mean the "link" will include a way to ask a question to "staff directly" and "later today" means at some time after now (it is currently 4:25 pm my time today).
i will look at that link again "later" -
    happy new year to all
