I have been accepted for NewsNow but I don’t know how to install the image on my page.

Can anyone explain with fairly basic instructions?!!??

The blog I need help with is

    And what is that?

You can probably use an Image Widget and drag and drop it to your sidebar – depending on the image and the code you get there can be scaling problems

Where do I paste the html source code?

I have the text but I cannot get the image up via a widget.

If you have the code then try this please >

If this code is for an iframe widget or a JavaScript widget you will not be able to use it for security reasons

If the code is for an advertising widget then using it will subject your blog to suspension due to a ToS violation, as no blogger initiated advertizing is allowed on free hosted blogs.

It’s not advertising and does not violate the any of the wordpress terms or conditions – posts from my blog will be highlighted on NewsNow enabling me to increase traffic to my site.

I now have the image up but it does not link anywhere. The image is on the right of the screen.

I have read through the links option but I do not think that is appropriate for this.

I am having problems with the link URL code.

    Hi there,
Will you please provide the code between backticks here ion this forum thread so we can examine it? The backtick ` not to be confused with the single quote mark ‘ is located to the left of the number 1 key in lower case under the tilde ~.

    Thanks for help!

I have copied the relevant section of the email I was sent, detailed below:-

The logo graphic file is attached to this email.

Upload the logo graphic file to your website/blog, then copy and paste the following HTML excerpt into the HTML source of your site:
    <div style=”width:119px;font-size:11px;line-height:11px;font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;color:#444;text-align:center” ><img src=”path/to/file/newsnow_ab.gif” style=”width:119px;height:47px;border:0;display:block;padding-bottom:2px” alt=”As featured on NewsNow: La Liga news”/>La Liga News 24/7</div>

NB: replace ‘path/to/file’ in the HTML excerpt above with the path to the folder in which you saved the logo.

Did you follow the instructions in the NB? You have to upload the image first, and then put it in there instead of the “path/to/file/newsnow_ab.gif”

Yes, uploaded image and copied link and inserted that in text.

Image appears but does not work when you click it.

The code you’ve posted above does not include any links. Does the code they gave you include any?

The code they provided is all that they gave me.

I need to include the file path for the logo instead of “path/to/file” which I have done but it still does not work??

Sorry if it is something obvious that I am missing. I am not the most PC literate person!!

It works just fine. I can see it.

If you want to make it link to NewsNow, try this code

    `<div style=”width:119px;font-size:11px;line-height:11px;font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;color:#444;text-align:center” ><img src=”path/to/file/newsnow_ab.gif”> style=”width:119px;height:47px;border:0;display:block;padding-bottom:2px” alt=”As featured on NewsNow: La Liga news”/>La Liga News 24/7</div>

Maybe they don’t mean it to be a link, just a badge/icon/logo type of acknowledgement.

Dammit, stupid WP, why did you do that?\

    <div style="width:119px;font-size:11px;line-height:11px;font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;color:#444;text-align:center" ><a href=""><img src="path/to/file/newsnow_ab.gif"> </a>style="width:119px;height:47px;border:0;display:block;padding-bottom:2px" alt="As featured on NewsNow: La Liga news"/>La Liga News 24/7</div>
