I switched to the Writr theme as soon as it came out, but have only just noticed that no categories are showing under my posts, only tags (even though I'm still selecting categories when I post). Can anybody please tell me if this is inherent to the theme, or is there some simple setting I'm missing that will make the categories show? Thanks!

No Categories Showing in Writr Theme
I will flag this to be moved to the Themes forum.
Thanks -- I only noticed the forums pull-down menu as I was clicking enter sorry!
No worries, everyone does that.
jtur001 - you're absolutely right, Writr doesn't display categories on each post or on the blog page. While this theme focusses more on tags and post formats, you can still use a category list or category cloud widget if you'd like your readers to be able to find posts by category. Any categories you've assigned to your posts will be picked up and reflected there.
Just let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you for the clarification.
Could I please suggest that the non-display of categories be mentioned in the theme showcase? Knowing in advance would have influenced my decision to switch to the theme (or not). Thanks.
Frankly, I'm a bit perplexed and annoyed by this feature -- I really can't see how making it *more* difficult for readers to find related posts in any way enhances their reading experience. Unfortunately, a category list or category cloud widget isn't quite the same, especially if it isn't visible from the post(s) in question.
Thanks for your feedback, I hear what you're saying.
We definitely realize that not having categories displayed on the posts isn't going to be for everyone. Fortunately, there are many other themes that do include them, and their demo sites reflect that. If you need help finding an alternative, just let me know.
