    Good evening.

To off-set the costs of providing free hosting to millions of bloggers, WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read the advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.

    10. Advertisements. Automattic reserves the right to display advertisements on your blog unless you have purchased an Ad-free Upgrade or a VIP Services account. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then provided you see this small About These Ads link what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising.

WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in comments. If you are seeing those then that’s a browser-ad-on issue, or in some cases, it’s embedded into free games downloaded from the internet. See here: Bloggers: Beware of Adware.

If what you are seeing whenever you save or update a post or page is an automatically added code/script block at the end of posts and pages that you can’t delete then see here: Malware Targets Macs and Windows PCs

All of WordPress.com ads are family-friendly. If you feel an ad is inappropriate please take a screenshot of it, upload it via Media -> Add New to your Media Library. Then return to this thread to post the file name to let Staff them know it’s there for them to view.

Lastly, note to eliminate all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs we can purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

I didnt take pic because I didnt know the correct process.
I hope that it will not happen again or ill make report for police.
    Thank You

Have you disabled all your browser add-ons and then viewed the blog? I’m asking because in almost every case when we get these complaints it’s a browser add-on issue.

Let’me know please if and how i can change my first message in this topic. Thank you

I don’t know how control this browser add-ons

We cannot edit threads here only Staff and Moderators can do that. Please tell us which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/

Use Google to find instructions for your browser specifically.

If the ad didn’t have the words “About these ads” to the top left of it, then it was not put there by WordPress; it was put there by your browser, which is infected with malware.

Timethief I use Google Chrome 25
If I can’t make it, please delete my name from first message for my privacy.

Oh sorry Timethief, i was thinking you are admin…
How i can contact Staff to make it?

We do occasionally run ads in order to keep free services free. However ads of the nature you describe are not permitted in our advertiser’s network.

I did not see that ad when visiting the site. If you do see an offensive ad again, please make a screenshot and attach it to a reply to this message. We take this very seriously.

Here’s how to make a screenshot:

Once you take the screenshot, please upload it via Media -> Add new in your blog’s Dashboard so we can take a look.

Please note that it’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.

These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions.

I tagged this thread for Staff.

Macmanx if you are admin, please delete my name that I wrongly wrote in my first post.
If you are not, please let me know I can contact admin to delete it. Thank you

    Thank you Timethief :)

I already took care of it. ;)

Please also follow the steps in my reply above, they should help. Also, if you can provide the screenshot, we can at least make sure that it isn’t us.

    May God bless you Macmanx.
I didnt make it screenshot and I lost that page.
I hope I’ll not find it again, but if it’ll happen I’ll make it :)

    You’re welcome!

Following this thread because of an ad as well… nothing wrong with it, just well, you know, it’s an ad! I understand that this is related to the revenue stream and that the optimal solution is to upgrade but quickly, the ad appeared after I activated a specific link – brain plasticity (the ad is for luminosity who seem to be everywhere these days) in addition to some related tags. I have since closed the link and eliminated the tags, in my initial irritation, but it seems that now the thing has found me I will just have to put up with it. This is tricky since I am intending to cover a wide range of topics, including helpful links and relevant tags but am afraid to become a magnet for whatever, admittedly classy, advertisers you are partnered with. Any thoughts? I’m going to look in my couch for some upgrade money now…

sorry … seem to have garbled the middle of the post. my fingers need luminosity too!
