Only show posts from one category on main page?
I will have a couple different categories of articles on my website. With that said, I do not wish for each post to show up on the main page. For instances, let’s say I have three categories; game summaries, press releases and polls. Every time I make a new post I put it in one of these three categories. With that said, every post shows up on the main page. I wish for only updates to “game summaries” to show up on the main page while updates to the other two categories only show up when you actually click on those categories on the tabs below my header. Is this possible? It would make the site less confusing for visitors. Thank you!
The blog I need help with is yorkvillerays.wordpress.com.
You cannot exclude categories from the blog main page. You can set a static front page for your site, not include any “posts” page, and then put the categories into the top navigation by creating a custom menu, but you cannot set a category page as the main page of your site.
Since you are using enterprise though, the categories by default will show in the lighter grey menu bar.
Same problem here. I would like to show up recent posts in recent post widget from only one category. Is that possible?
At least using text widget any work around? Thank you!!
hi is it possible for me to just have a summary of the post instead of the whole post appearing on the feeds page
I already answered you here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/post-apprearance?replies=4#post-732115 Please do not post into multiple threads on the same issue.

No it is not possible.

You can create your own links to the posts of your choice and place them in a text widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/text-widget-links/
“Select which categories appear on the main page” would be a wonderful feature!
