WHat I find very confusing is that you need to turn OFF ‘mobile theme’ with Oxygen theme in order to have a good view on your mobile. Isn’t that strange?
If you turn ON mobile, you don’t see the showcase template anymore. You will only get an empty menu and you only see the page which you needed to appoint as the showcase page in static view.
THis is a real bug I believe. Please address this to the theme developpers.
The blog I need help with is didieschackman.wordpress.com.
Some of our themes include styles that work well with mobile devices, and Oxygen is one of these. It’s called a responsive design.
The Mobile Options under Appearance -> Mobile are enabled for all blogs on WordPress.com by default. This offers a single mobile-friendly look for all themes. It doesn’t include custom page templates (as you’ve noted) but is good for those themes that aren’t responsive and wouldn’t look good on a mobile device otherwise.
So, this is the intended behavior. Since you’re using a responsive, mobile-friendly theme, it’s fine to turn off the Mobile Theme view under Appearance -> Mobile and use Oxygen’s responsive default view instead.
Hope this clears things up!
