When choosing a theme, I used the feature selection to narrow down the themes to only the ones that had what I needed. One of those features was post formats. After doing so, I feel in love with the Oxygen theme but only after completely redesigning my site did I realize, it had no post format options.

    Or does it?

If it does, may someone please explain how to access them?

If it doesn’t, can anyone recommend a theme just like it but with post formats included?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is mottotales.com.

    Hi Jadorie,

It is possible to assign different post formats to individual posts in Oxygen. To do this, head to the editor for a post and then select from the “Post Formats” module on the left.

The post formats with this theme aren’t actually styled differently to each other, and so you may not notice any difference.

If you upgrade to WordPress.com Premium or Business then you could potentially use some custom CSS in order to style the different formats.

In terms of similar themes that do style different formats differently, Apostrophe, Twenty Fourteen, and Gazette are magazine-inspired themes that come to mind.

Let me know if any of those options suit or if you have extra questions.

    Hi,

Thank you for the suggestions. I decided to use Twenty Fourteen instead because it also had multiple post formats and custom colors, but after I’d finished designing it, unlike Oxygen, it had no way to change the link and menu color to anything besides green.

Is there anyway to do so??

Is there anyway to do so??

Yes, but it won’t be free of charge. You will need to pay every year for renewal of a Premium upgrade.

We bloggers do not have access to the template files underlying our themes on wordpress.COM hosted blogs and cannot edit them. This is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme use the same underlying template found on the live demo site for each theme.

Does Customize let me edit HTML?
No. Customize allows you to edit fonts, colors, and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup or PHP code. If you require this functionality, please consider moving your blog to a web host that supports theme code modifications. You can read more about why here http://support.wordpress.com/code/, and find a suitable host here http://get.wp.com/hosting/.

Note 1: Once you have the required upgrade you can use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can create a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get the help you need with CSS editing.

Note 2: You can also post there prior to purchasing an upgrade to get an answer to whether or not what you want to do can be accomplished via CSS editing.
