Page not found
By default the front page of your blog displays all posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of the blog appeared because the Admin of the blog deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/
If you attempt to create a static front page and fail to create two pages ie. one for your static front page and one for posts to display on then you get the same result.
If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
To do that create two pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

A static page (select below)
I have a similar problem with my blog, http://brocour.org/, using the Manifest theme.
I did editing of pages and find that the static page I created now comes up as #2117 (NO TITLE).
Previously the page did not display at all, which is how I designed it, as there is no need for a ‘home’ page per se nor do I wish for posts to go directly there.
For posts, I created a page ‘Articles’ earlier and create links directly on to the page, so there is no blog/posts page as such either.
I’d like to go back to the static page and contents as the ‘home’ page while not have it figure among the pages shown. I’m open to suggestions for the best way to work with posts, but like the idea that people see an ‘Articles’ page.
I hope I explain myself! I’d appreciate any advice as you may have!
Thanks a lot!
