I have a home page with a header photograph. However, this appears on every added page. How can I remove it from the added pages only?
The blog I need help with is paulgoggins.wordpress.com.
The guide for uploading a custom image header is here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/#uploading-a-custom-header-image
Flexible headers see > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-header-image/#flexible-headers
Featured Header Images http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#featured-header-images
Note: This feature only works with themes that allow custom header images and have featured header images enabled.
The header image for Chateau is 960 pixels wide and 262 pixels high.
If you don’t see the Featured Image module on your Add New or Edit Post page, please make sure you’ve selected Featured Image in your Screen Options. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options
Maybe you have misunderstood. I want to remove an image from all pages other than the “home page”. When I constructed my home page and added an image to it, the image was repeated on all added pages.
Should this have happened as a default?
The existing header image will appear on all pages in the blog, unless or until you set a featured image header on individual posts and pages. When you do that it will override the display of the header image that appears on all posts and pages now. I hope that and the support documentation I pointed you to above are all you need to figure this out.
Only SOME themes allow you to display a custom header on the main page and not on individual blog posts.
Thanks timethief and raincoaster for your replies.
raincoaster– is there a comparison chart that I can use to tell at a glance which themes have which features? If not, is there any way I can contact WordPress to suggest to them that they should incorporate a comparison chart?
1) no there is not
2) put a thread in the Ideas forum with that suggestion.
