'Pages' How do they work?
I’m trying to put Pages into my blog, and the parent pages show up, but when I try to put something within a parent page it won’t come up. Is the parent page supposed to show a scroll down menu when you move your mouse over it or what exactly? It’s only letting me click through the parent page, and then won’t show the sub page. I have checked to make sure the sub-page is published, and I don’t know what to do? Has anyone else had this problem/can you help me?
The blog I need help with is teeneditingprocess.wordpress.com.
Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we bloggers create are static and cannot automatically update. But the dynamic categories pages created by the software will automatically update.
We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.
Here’s a link to a custom menu walk-through > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/11/wordpress-com-custom-menu-walk-through/
There are many common errors, misunderstandings and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here. > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
Some themes automatically display links to child pages as a dropdown, but some (including the one you’re using) don’t. So you need to create a custom menu (see timethief’s links).
By the way, here’s how your bg image shows on my screen:
I don’t suppose that’s what you want, is it?
P.S. I get the same background display. Blech!
Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate the help!
