pages or additional blogs?

  • I have read the FAQs that deal with pages and categories, but am still confused. I am new to blogging by the way, so I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing. I am an art student and would like to comment on art, photography, and poetry. I produce all three and would like to discuss all three. I can’t use pages as blogs? If I were to get additional wordpress blogs is there a way that I could have one blog that opens as the default and kinda hosts the other blogs? Could I use a nav bar or something that would tell people where to go for specific ones? I really don’t know what to do or how do it. Also why is the formatting all crazy when I make posts? Hitting the enter key doesn’t begin a new paragraph when I post a new blog. I’ve deleted several posts because I’m getting frustrated.

  • If you are reading about categories then you are completely off track. The static pages at the top of your blog are NOT categories. A blog has only one page that will automatically update placing each new post you publish at the top. Pages are meant to be used for static content that rarely, if ever, changes.

Pages cannot have categories assigned to them only posts can. This will help you to understand that differences between pages and posts http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/11/a-post-and-a-page/
