Pages under "Home" on Navigation Bar

The website I’m working on is this one, and I admit I’m a newbie.

I wanted the “About” and “Contact” pages to pop up as a submenu under “Home” on the navigation bar, so I put “Home” as the parent of each page. But both still come up on the navigation bar as if the page’s parent was “none.” The rest of the pages on the website don’t have this problem – they pop up under whatever parent I’ve given them.

Could this be related to the fact that I renamed the “Home” page “Welcome to En-Gedi…” ? I did this because I didn’t want “Home” to be the very first word my readers encountered.

Right now, every page has its name displayed at the top as a huge h1 header. Is this something that can be turned off in this theme? I’d like to be able to start the page with whatever title that I want, rather than be forced to give it the same title as in the navigation bar.

Thanks for any help you can give.
