Pagination in Twenty Ten?

I’ve read that to add pagination all you have to add is <!––nextpage––> in your text editor (not HTML editor). I have tried, with no luck. Also, I tried entering the same <!––nextpage––> code into the HTML editor and still, no luck.
Someone please help! Pagination is shown in the Twenty Ten live demo so I know it should work just fine!
